Toby Kniffin


Guitar & Vocals

Toby has been playing the music of the Grateful Dead for over twenty-five years. He spent the late 80s and most of the 90s fronting Third Stone. He then became a leading force in the bands Liquid Dead, based out of Burlington, VT and The Desolation Angels from New York.  Recently, besides fronting Mystic Dead, Toby is also the driving force and lead songwriter of the band Green Tea, a jam band based in Westerly, RI. 

Ian Kelly


Guitar & Vocals

Ian majored in music in college and has been playing professionally ever since.   Ian is a true multi-instrumentalist, playing guitars and percussion.  Besides playing guitar with the Mystic Dead, Ian also plays guitar in the Marcy Kelly trio, and drums with various contemporary jazz artists in the area.  Ian also can be found during the week performing solo gigs at local bars around town.  In the recent past, Ian was the drummer for the band Sugar. 

Ronnie Lewis


Drums & Vocals

Ronnie Lewis provides the beat for the Mystic Dead.  Ronnie has been playing in various bands for over twenty years.  Besides Mystic Dead, Ronnie is also the lead vocalist and drummer for The Troublemakers, New England's leading Allman Brothers tribute band.

Marty Moroney



Marty has been keeping up the bottom end in touring bands all over New England for the last fifteen years.  Besides Mystic Dead, Marty also currently plays bass in the Allman Brothers tribute band The Troublemakers and the popular jam band Green Tea.  In the recent past, Marty also played bass in the band Desolation Angels.  

Paul Sauvageau



 Paul has been in the music scene since the 1970's, performing around the globe and opening for national acts such as Little Feat and Bonnie Raitt.  In 2017, Paul was inducted into the RI Music Hall of Fame with his bandmates in Rizzz for entertaining and inspiring a generation.  Besides playing with Mystic Dead, Paul can be found performing with D'Vottes, Chesterfields and Violin River, RI's premier Grateful Dead experience.

We could not do what we do without the ladies in our lives, who patiently put up with gigs that last until 2 am, instruments laying all over the house and the smell of smoke in our clothes.
